Darlene Lois Ramswick, 86, of Grasston died on Monday, December 25, 2017 at her home.
She was born June 6, 1931 in Hutchinson, MN to William and Zella (Hurst) Malek. Darlene grew up on the family farm in Hutchinson, attending country school and graduating high school in Hutchinson.
On May 15, 1954 she was united in marriage to Leonard Ramswick in Hutchinson. They moved to Bloomington where they raised their two sons. Over the years, Darlene worked at various jobs including Northwest Airlines, at a bank, and after Leonard retired in 1992 she worked as a receptionist at Val’s Beauty Salon at the Walker Home in Minneapolis. In June 2004 Darlene and Leonard moved to their home in Grasston to be near their sons.
She enjoyed playing piano, spending time outside working in her garden, and tending to all the yardwork. She and Leonard liked going to craft shows, they were active in donating to charities and she attended Fish Lake Lutheran Church.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Leonard “Skip” Ramswick in February 2013 and brother Kenneth Malek.
Darlene is survived by her sons Keith and wife Vonnie Ramswick of Rush City, Kyle and wife Robin Ramswick of Grasston, grandsons Sean and wife Kate Ramswick of St. Paul, Alex and Eric Best of Minneapolis, as well as other relatives and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11AM, Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Fish Lake Lutheran Church with Rev. Amanda Applehans officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
